WINNER OF THE CATEGORY LATIN SOLOIST OF THE YEAR IN
MEXICO

The
votes of the Public favor the Peruvian Pedro Suárez
Vértiz as the winner of the Best
Latin Soloist of the Year, in this way he became in
one of the 7 winners of in “Orgullosamente Latino”,
(Proudly Latin), El Premio del Público 2004,
(The Award of the Public 2004).
In
a contest that started on June 21, and that was formed
by 34 singers of Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Colombia,
Panama, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Argentina and Venezuela,
Pedro achieved to pass to the final where he contested
with David Bustamante, Ricky Martín, Luis Fonsi
and Eros Ramazzotti. At the end, the Peruvian singer
won with the 57.98% of the votes to his favour.
Born
in Lima Perú on February 13th., Pedro Suárez
Vértiz is considered in his country the most
popular rock artist. He was a member of Arena Hash
group, with whom he recorded two albums.
Pedro
Suárez also studied Communication Sciences
at the Universidad de Lima, and after that he performed
as a Solo artist the record “No existen técnicas
para olvidar”, (There are no techniques to forget
you).
Later he presented the records Póntelo en la
lengua (Put it in the tongue), Degeneración
actual and 4, his latest record.
Pedro
has performed successfully in countries like Spain,
Netherlands, Japan, United States and all Latin America.
Master
in guitar, piano, harmonic and drums, Pedro has performed
popular themes such as Mi auto era una rana (My car
was a frog), Tambaleando (Staggering), Alguien que
bese como tú (Someone who kisses like you)
and Bailar (Dance), among others.
The
vote of the Public decided that this 2004 Pedro Suárez
Vértiz was the Best Latin Soloist of the Year
of Orgullosamente Latino (Proudly Latin), a recognition
awarded by the TV viewers of Ritmoson Latino through
its website Ritmosonlatino.com.
